These bonsai wire tags have a total length of 2 3/8 inches. The round tag itself is .75 inches. The numbers are hand stamped with a height of .5 inches.
Each set contains 10 tags. One for each size coil of copper bonsai wire. 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22.
These can be clipped to the “Pigtale” that Jim Gremel has on his coils of wire. You can make your own wire ring, or do as I do and clip them to a zip tie that I place around my wire to hold coils together.
I recently was an observer at a workshop and I witnessed a participant with copper bonsai wire laid out on the table. There were no tags on the wire to differentiate the sizes. Instead, this participant had a bulky chunk of metal with different size wire on it. The theory was to match the size of wire that you wanted to use to the wire on the metal. The struggle for this participant to find the right size wire was real. To me, it looked time-consuming and frustrating.
